Why Wholesale Distributors?
While excess inventory is a general concern, wholesale distributors have a unique business environment that intensifies their inventory issues. The number of SKUs is typically large – making it difficult to keep track of everything. The basic business of buying in bulk and selling in smaller chunks adds to the inventory over time. Also, a lack of visibility leads to wrong items being ordered for reasons such as a volume discount. All these reasons make the inventory opportunity all that more sizable in the world of wholesale distributors.
What have we done?
We have created the analytical rules that should be used to analyze the demand and inventory data. These rules are based on 20 years of work in this field and represent the best practices that we have seen. In addition, we have pre-configured the software to integrate quickly with the ERP systems used most commonly by wholesale distributors. These include the Microsoft Dynamics Suite (GP/NAV/SL/AX) as well as Epicor Prophet 21. We plan to extend to other ERP’s in the future.
